Bbq Grilling Fireplace

After cutting the gas and the installation of a grill, work machines, but the driver does not turn on the heater?!?
We turned the gas valve to install a gas barbecue at the end of a pipe which has already been built into the house. It went well. We have doubled the gas supply, gas and some other related issues came and worked the grill, but our (less than one year) water heater does not light. In addition, the fireplace does not work. We all according to directions, is set on "Pilot", hold a button down while pushing the lighter, hold the button above, nothing. There is no spark or anything, just do you have not a second. For everything else works fine (except chimney), the gas can be the problem. The heater was not working perfectly well before out and the heater is months old and that was installed by a professional. Suggestions before paying someone to fix out in three seconds or something? Thank you!
Two things: 1) most utilities check this stuff out for free. 2) most new gas appliances have "Pilot" as they did. They are now electronic ignition, however, valves these units continue to be a pilot basis. In these cases, this function Not used. Turn the valve to the end and turn the temperature to see if any sparks. 3) speaks of ignition – No spark you mentioned. If it is used to provoke, then it is actually an electronic ignition – causing only when there is a demand for gas. The Pilot non-sparking, but simply put a small amount of gas to light a match or lighter. I hope that helps.
